How we quote drywall repair, and what the price includes.
One flat, all-in number, in writing, approved before any work starts. Here is exactly how that works, what the number covers, and what happens if the wall turns out worse than it looked.
Four steps, in order
1. Send a photo of the damage
Use the quote form or call. A photo of the wall or ceiling, and a sentence on what happened, is usually enough to price a repair. You will usually hear back within a day.
2. Get one flat number, in writing
The quote is flat and all-in. It counts every patch, names the finish and the texture match, and includes materials, floor protection, and cleanup. It never says “starting at.”
3. Approve it before anything starts
No work begins until you have approved the written quote. Once you do, a job typically starts 1 to 2 days later.
4. If the wall is worse once it is open, work stops
Sometimes the damage behind the surface is bigger than it looked. When that happens, work stops, the new number goes to you in writing, and nothing continues until you say yes.
What the quote includes
- Every patch on the visit, counted one by one
- The finish, named: smooth, or textured to match
- The texture match, named and priced, not discovered later
- Materials
- Floor protection
- Cleanup

Questions about pricing
What does the service call minimum cover?
Our service call minimum is $175 to $225. It covers the truck, setup, floor protection, and cleanup. Repair pricing goes by the patch from there.
Why not just price by the square foot?
Small drywall repairs do not work that way. The truck, setup, protection, and cleanup cost the same whether the patch is two inches or two feet, so repairs price by the visit and the patch. Per-area pricing starts on bigger work like panel replacement.
Is it cheaper to fix several holes on one visit?
Yes. After the first small patch, each additional small patch on the same visit runs $50 to $75 as a typical Houston range, which is why bundling repairs into one trip is the best deal in drywall.
Do you do emergency same-day repairs?
No. We usually call back within a day and can often start within a day or two, but we do not offer emergency same-day work. If you have a water emergency, stop the water first.
Are you licensed?
Texas does not license drywall or sheetrock contractors, so the word “licensed” tells you very little here. What matters is the finish work and whether the person is honest with you about the price.
Would you ever tell me not to hire you?
Yes. For a single small nail hole, about $20 of spackle and 20 minutes does the job, and we would rather say so than bill a service call for it.
