Ceiling Repair & Replacement in Houston

Ceilings are the least forgiving surface in the house. Every flaw shows in the overhead light, and gravity works against you the whole time, which is exactly why a ceiling is where most people stop doing it themselves and pick up the phone. We repair and replace ceilings across Greater Houston, from a single water-stained section to a whole room taken back to the joists and rebuilt.

The work is done so the repair disappears into the texture around it, ready for paint and impossible to find once it is up there.

What ceiling repair involves

Damaged board comes out back to solid joists, and where there is a cause behind the damage, like a leak, that gets flagged before anything is rebuilt. There is no sense closing a fresh ceiling over water that is still coming. Once the area is sound and dry, the ceiling is rebuilt, retextured to match the rest of the room, and left paint-ready.

Cracks, sags, and water stains

A hairline crack across a ceiling is often just the house moving on Houston's clay soil. A sag or a soft, stained area is usually water, and that is a different job that starts with finding the source. If you want to understand what you are looking at before you call, the guides on repairing water-damaged drywall and reading a brown ceiling stain walk through it.

Frequently asked questions

How much does ceiling repair cost in Houston?

It depends on the size of the area, whether the board has to be replaced or just patched, and how much texture matching the ceiling needs. A small patch in a smooth ceiling is quick. A water-damaged, knockdown-textured section takes longer. Send a photo and we will give you a straight number.

Can a ceiling be patched, or does the whole thing need replacing?

Usually it can be patched. Sound, dry ceiling board stays, and only the damaged section comes out and gets rebuilt and retextured. Full replacement is for ceilings that are widely damaged, sagging across a large area, or where patching would never blend cleanly.

Do you repair water-damaged ceilings?

Yes, and it is a big part of what we do. The key is handling it in order: find and confirm the leak is fixed, remove the compromised board, make sure the cavity is dry, then rebuild and retexture. Painting over a water-stained ceiling without that just brings the stain back.
